Many everyday items used in buildings—carpets, furnishings, paint, photocopiers and printers, for
instance—produce toxins (such as Trichloroethylene, Benzene and Formaldehyde) that contribute to ‘Sick Building Syndrome’.
It is universally accepted that plants clean the air and,
as a general rule of thumb, plants with bigger leaves provide a greater surface area for better air cleaning. It is recommended that one large plant is needed for an area of approximately 9.3 sq. metres.
It has also been found that using a selection of different plants is more effective in cleaning the air inside buildings than using only one variety of plant while some plants are better at cleaning the air than others.
If you would like a free survey of your building, we would be happy to discuss this in more detail.
